What's the weather like in China in November?

China is a massive country with very different landscapes, ranging from mountains to coasts and busy cities. There’s lots of different weather depending on which part of the country you visit, but things are generally cooling down in November as winter approaches. The weather can get freezing cold in some places, such as the capital city Beijing, while you’ll have plenty of warm weather if you go to Hong Kong at this time of year.

Averages

For some of the warmest weather in China, head to Hong Kong in November where there’s an average temperature of 22°C. With highs of 24°C and lows of 19°C, and a sea temperature of 24°C, it’s also one of the driest months of the year with just 20mm of rain expected. It’s wetter in Shanghai on the east coast, which receives 50mm of rain. The city’s also cooler, with an average temperature of 13°C, but this is warmer than in Beijing where it’s just 5°C.
