    China weather July

What's the weather like in China in July?

As one of the biggest countries in the world, China has lots of different landscapes, from mountain ranges to beautiful coastlines and busy cities. This means that there are lots of different types of weather depending on where you visit. July is summer across the country, so most places are very warm this month. It’s also the wettest period of the year for most of China’s regions, so many places see plenty of rain at this time.

    Averages

July’s the hottest month of the year in the capital Beijing, with an average temperature of 27ºC, highs of 31ºC and lows of 22ºC. It’s a wet month for the city, which expects to see 175mm of rain spread across 14 days. It’s even wetter in Hong Kong on the south coast, where 250mm of rain’s predicted to fall over 17 days. Temperatures are a bit higher too, especially in the evenings when the average low only dips to 26ºC. Shanghai, on the east coast, is almost as warm, although there’s much less rain compared to Hong Kong. If you want to go for a swim in the East China Sea, the water’s a lovely 25ºC in July.
