    The Asia weather in September has an average temperature of 14°C across the whole continent. But if you’re flying off to a fantastic country in the warm south of Asia, such as Sri Lanka or Thailand, then you can expect temperatures to be double that. Take a showerproof jacket though as you could get caught in tropical rains.

    Geographical influences

    Countries in the south of Asia, such as India, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia will be warmer than northern countries like Russia, China and Kazakhstan in September. Rainfall will also be higher in these tropical regions, with Goa on India’s west coast having over 200mm this month. By the coast the cool sea breeze in southern Asia is very welcoming.

    The average daytime temperature between cities in north and south Asia vary quite a lot in September. In Astana and Beijing, for example, it’ll be about 16°C and 23°C. In Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok this shoots up to an average of 29°C. The weather in Asia in September produces a good deal of sunshine. The water temperature around the Andaman Sea, South China Sea and Philippine Sea is likely to be between 25°C and 28°C. The Atlantic and Indian Ocean will be very similar. Even on cooler days the UV levels can be strong, so make sure you use plenty of sunblock when you’re exploring the cities and beaches.
