      California

California is located along the Pacific in the west of the USA. It’s known for its sunny, Mediterranean climate that ranges from subtropical to subarctic because of the size of the state. The best time to visit California in the summer for the highest temperatures. The south tends to be warmer and drier than the north of the state, with an average temperature of 22°C and highs of 27°C. If you’re staying in the north, you can look forward to milder temperatures of 23°C in July with nightly lows of 14°C. Spring is the best time to go to California if you prefer cooler weather but still want to make the most out of the state’s beautiful beaches. The average temperature ranges from 17°C to 27°C. UV levels begin to increase in spring and summer, so make sure to wear high factor sun cream and protect your skin while on holiday. The higher elevated areas, such as the Sierra Nevada mountains have an alpine climate, which means it’s hot in the summer but it often snows in the winter. The mountains are also wetter than coastal regions, so you’ll need to pack an umbrella if you’re staying near California’s mountain ranges.
