    Tenerife weather June

What’s the weather like in Tenerife in June?

Tenerife, with its location close to the west coast of Africa, enjoys great holiday weather in June. The largest of the Canary Islands, it has a varied climate, although if you're going in June you'll get lots of sun and not much rain.

    Geographical influences

It may be near to the Sahara Desert, but you won’t get the same extreme temperatures, thanks to the Canary Current, which is a stream of cool water in the Atlantic that takes the edge off the heat. The current also has the bonus of making the island's wildlife really diverse. Mount Teide is one of the world’s highest volcanoes, and its summit is Spain’s highest point. Situated in the centre of Tenerife, it protects the south from north westerly winds and helps keep rain away from the coast. If you're on the coast, you'll also avoid any dust storms. These can blow in from the Sahara, as they're above sea level in June, but you'll only get them in the mountains.

    Averages

Pack your favourite swimwear, as with an average high temperature of 25ºC, you'll be spending lots of time chilling out on the beach in June. Things stay quite pleasant in the evenings, but you'll probably want to bring a jumper or jacket as temperatures cool to around 16ºC. The sea’s nice and welcoming with a temperature of 22ºC, while humidity’s low, ranging from 50% to a touch over 80%. Average rainfall’s 10mm over a single rainy day.

    Daylight

You can expect up to 14 hours of daylight if your plan your Tenerife holidays in June, and with nine hours of sunshine there’s more than enough daylight to pack everything in. UV levels will be extreme so make sure you use plenty of sun cream, while the sun sets after 9pm in June.
