    Algarve weather June

What’s the weather like in the Algarve in June?

The Algarve’s in the south of Portugal close to the coast of North Africa. This means it has long and hot summers, with June being near the middle of this season but not quite as warm as July or August. The Algarve’s one of Europe’s sunniest places, and also has the best weather in Portugal. Mountains to the north protect it from northern and Atlantic winds. The winds that do arrive are stronger offshore, so you can look forward to great water sports. Eastern parts of the Algarve have slightly warmer and drier weather than the west because they're closer to the Mediterranean than the Atlantic.

    Averages

The average high in the Algarve’s capital, Faro, is 25ºC in June. This drops to 15ºC at night so bring some warmer things for the evenings. The sea temperature’s 21ºC, while humidity’s low. There’s 17mm of rain over three days. You can expect 15 hours of daylight each day with 11 long hours of sunshine at a very high UV level, so make sure you use lots of sun cream. The sun goes down nice and late just before 9pm, which is perfect for an al fresco dinner.
