Weather in Algarve
With its location on the southern coast of Portugal, you can expect nothing but clear blue skies, warm sunshine and high temperatures all year-round.
It’s a beautiful holiday destination at any time of the year because the weather is always mild and enjoyable with very little rainfall. For mild temperatures and comfortable weather, the best time to visit Algarve is spring or autumn, when the sea is still warm enough for swimming and it’s not overly hot.
The average temperature is around 20°C, which is very pleasant and ideal for a day out on the beach or some sightseeing.
The best time to go to Algarve is during the summer when the weather is at its best. July and August have an average high of 28°C that’s known to climb to 35°C on the hottest days.
Humidity levels are quite low and kept under control by cooling sea breezes from the sea. When winds from the Sahara Desert make their way to the region, temperatures will soar and there’s also a chance they’ll carry sand, so make sure you pack your sunglasses for both the sun and the wind.
