    Morocco weather January

What's the weather like in Morocco in January?

There’s different weather around Morocco, although in general it doesn't get too cold over winter, during the daytime at least, due to the Sahara Desert in the south. Popular Moroccan holiday destinations are great for a dose of winter sun, and there’s lots of places to find warm and sunny weather.

    Climatic regions

Morocco has varied weather because of its geography, with coastal spots generally having a Mediterranean climate. The North Atlantic coast, where popular Agadir is, has slightly cooler temperatures due to the effect of the Canary Current. Temperatures soar in the south thanks to the desert, while inland areas, where you'll find Marrakech, get high temperatures as there’s no ocean nearby to cool them down.

    Averages

The typical high temperature in Agadir during January is a lovely 20ºC, although things do get chilly at night. Temperatures normally drop to 8ºC so bring some warmer clothes for the evenings. The average sea temperature’s 18ºC, while humidity’s low and rainfall's usually 37mm over five rainy days. You can expect ten hours of daylight with seven hours of sunshine each day, while UV levels will be moderate. Sunset’s around 6pm.
