What's the weather like in Sicily in October?

Sitting off the toe of Italy’s boot, Sicily’s the largest island in the Mediterranean. It has typical Mediterranean weather with long, hot summers that last well into October. This means you’ll get plenty of warm weather and sun at this time, although there’s more rain than earlier in the summer.

Mount Etna

Mount Etna’s one of the world’s tallest and most active volcanoes, and has a big impact on Sicily’s weather. It protects the south from north westerly winds, keeping you warm and dry. The southeast coast’s also a bit calmer. There’s cooler temperatures and more rain in and around the mountains. The Sahara Desert can sometimes send over hot winds, which pushes temperatures up a lot.
