    Maldives weather September

What's the weather like in the Maldives in September?

Located in the Indian Ocean to the southwest of Sri Lanka and India, the Maldives is an island country and archipelago that enjoys high temperatures, warm waters and lots of sun all year round. September’s one of the wettest months of the year, but you'll still get plenty of great beach weather.

    Wet season

The weather doesn’t change much as the year goes on in the Maldives, although its tropical monsoon climate does mean there’s a distinct wet season from May to October. The dry season runs from November to April. Southern parts of the Maldives get the most rain due to the monsoon winds, while there’s higher humidity and stronger winds in general during the wet season.

    Averages

In September, Malé, the Maldives’ capital and largest city, has an average high of 30ºC. You’ll be nice and warm in the evenings, as this only drops to 25ºC at night. The sea’s also very warm at 28ºC, while humidity’s high. There’s 213mm of rain over 15 days, although you can still expect seven hours of sunshine from the 12 hours of daylight each day. UV levels will be extremely high so protect yourself with sun cream in the sun, which sets at around 6pm.
