    Cuba weather May

What’s the weather like in Cuba in May?

Cuba’s in the northern Caribbean and has the Tropic of Cancer running through the north, meaning the island has a tropical climate with warm weather all year round. May is the first month of the wet season, which lasts until October, but you'll still get plenty of sun as it doesn't usually rain for long. The Caribbean Current brings nice warm waters to Cuba, while north easterly winds and coastal breezes will help to keep you cool. You'll be driest if you're staying in the south because of the direction of the winds.

    Averages

The average high in the capital, Havana, is 30ºC in May, which only drops to 22ºC at night. With these temperatures you won’t need much more than shorts and t-shirts, although you should bring a waterproof top as there’s typically 130mm of rain over nine days. You can still expect 13 hours of daylight with 9 hours of sunshine each day. The sea temperature is 27ºC, which is perfect for swimming, while humidity’s high. Don't forget your sun cream as UV levels will be extremely high. The sun goes down at around 8pm.
