    Cuba weather August

What's the weather like in Cuba in August?

Sitting in the northern Caribbean Sea at the meeting point of the North Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, Cuba has warm weather all year round. The Tropic of Cancer runs through the north of the main island, meaning Cuba has a tropical climate with two distinct seasons. The rainy season’s from May to October so August is one of the wettest months of the year. You'll still get lots of sun at this time too. The Caribbean Current brings warm waters from the equator while north easterly winds will help keep you cool. Although there’s mountains in the south east, the north has more rain because of the direction of the winds.

    Averages

The typical high in Havana is 32ºC in August, making it perfect for relaxing in the sun. Things stay nice and warm in the evenings which only cool to around 23ºC. The sea temperature is also warm at 30ºC while humidity’s very high. There’s 157mm of rain over 11 days but you can still look forward to 13 hours of daylight and eight hours of sunshine each day. UV levels will be extreme so take sun cream. The sun goes down at about 8pm.
