    Barbados weather August

What's the weather like in Barbados in August?

Barbados has hot tropical weather due to its location just 13 degrees north of the equator. Sitting at the meeting point of the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean, the island has high temperatures all year round. August’s in the wet season, which runs from late May to early December, although rain’s usually in short and heavy downpours. Trade winds that blow in from the Atlantic will help keep you cool, while there’s not much difference in weather around the island as it’s relatively flat. You’ll usually find things are calmer on the south and west Caribbean coast compared to the north and east Atlantic coast though.

    Averages

The average high in Bridgetown is 31ºC in August so it’s lovely and hot. Things stay warm in the evenings too, which only cool to 23ºC. The sea temperature’s 28ºC, while humidity’s very high. There’s 154mm of rain over 16 days, although you can expect 13 hours of daylight with eight hours of sunshine each day. UV levels will be extremely high so take plenty of sun cream with you. The sun goes down just before 6.30pm at the start of the month.
