    Thailand weather August

What's the weather like in Thailand in August?

Sitting just to the north of the equator, most of Thailand has a tropical climate, although there’s differences in weather around the country. If you're going in August though, you can be sure of getting lots of hot weather.

    Regional variations

Thailand’s southern and central regions have similar temperatures all year round, while there’s more rain in mountainous areas. The weather’s dominated by the two monsoon seasons; November to April’s north eastern monsoon brings drier conditions than May to October’s south western monsoon, when you'll get warmer, cloudier and more humid weather.

    Averages

The average high in August’s 32ºC, so bring plenty of light clothes with you. You won’t need many warmer things for the evenings as temperatures only cool to 24ºC at night. The sea’s warm and inviting at 29ºC, while humidity’s very high. There’s 100mm off rain over ten days, and you can expect six hours of sunshine from the 12 hours of daylight each day. Take good care in the sun as UV levels will be extremely high, so use lots of sun cream. The sun goes down at around 6.30pm through most of the month.
